I couldnt really have asked for a better friday night. Amy, JR and I all went out to dinner to Tuchettis (aka Douche Eddies), superb itallian food. Then we went to the art detour in downtown Phoenix. I was suprised to see the culture that does exist in a little nook just beside the skyscrapers of downtown PHX. I really think that the combination of the art scene, and the plans for the new downtown ASU campus is going to make that a really hot area. JR doesnt agree with me, infact we now have a $50 bet on the subject. We will see JR, we will see. Anyways, back to the art detour thing, we went down there originally to see this really cool local band, skybox. What a cool little band. These guys played their hearts out with shitty equipment on the sidewalk on the corner of McKinnley and third street, for free. They have such a variety of musical styles. Its like you took the popular music of the past 4 or 5 decades and combined it, infact they often do that in just one song. Id highly reccomend checking them out.
Of course the real highlight of the night was me falling off of a bike. One of the little art studios in the surrounding area had these crazy bikes and the guy let us try them out. The one I tried out had several tires and was using them as cogs, so you actually had to pedal backwards. It had 2 wheels in the back and 3 scooter sized wheels in the front. All of this added up to a very tall bike. Now if you add in baggy jeans, which I was wearing, and the fact that baggy jeans tend to get stuck in the gear of the bike, the result of the equation is a ripped pair of jeans and a skinned elbow for me…oh yeah and a street full of laughing people…..

I am disappointed that you didnt take pictures of these whacky bikes, and more disappointed that Amy didnt take a picture of you falling on one of them.
